JESUS OUR HOPE

In Romans 5:3-5, Paul says that we can rejoice in our sufferings because we are a people of hope.

“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” (Rom. 5:3–5, ESV).

Hope means that even when it looks like it's all over, it's not all over yet. That's why the Bible says we can rejoice even in our tribulations. God is working in our hard times to produce proven character and hope in us."

“May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you." (NIV) Psalm 33:22)

Peace

It is so easy to feel anxious, worried, overwhelmed or just out of control in our lives. Many things around us cause us to stress or fear, and everywhere we turn, it seems like more bad news pops up.

It's tempting when fear arises to run to things we think will comfort us, but nothing in the world will be able to bring us the comfort and peace that Christ can. At times, God may feel distant, especially when feelings of anxiety begin to overwhelm, but reading the truth of the Bible reminds us that he is always near to the brokenhearted and close to those in need. We are reminded that he has always been faithful, that he will still be faithful even now, and that he will be faithful in the future, no matter what might arise or come our way.

Philippians 4:7 reminds us that the Holy Spirit brings peace to our minds that surpasses all of our understanding… we just need to surrender our fear and our worries to him. Bring your heartache to the Lord in prayer and trust in his goodness and faithfulness.

Dear God may Your peace calm our hearts during this testing times.
